Biography of MARGARET ATTWOOD O'BRIEN
OF COUNSEL
PEGGY earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and in Film Production from Syracuse University / The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications (cum laude) in 1985, and her law degree from New York Law School in 1995. She was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1995 and the New York bar in 1996.
PEGGY is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. PEGGY practiced in the areas of music and theatre contracts and licensing in New York City from 1996 to 2001, when she relocated to the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. She has diverse interests, including organic farming, beekeeping, sailing, and sustainable living. She conducts estate sales as a member of Collin, Forbes & O’Brien LLC.
PEGGY has become of counsel to the Firm in the Lakeville office. Her practice for the Firm will be limited to real estate and tax-exempt organization law.
PEGGY’s desire, as the practice of law relates to the philanthropic arena, is to provide counsel to individuals and entities that contribute to the diversity of culture and community through art, education, sustainable use of land and natural resources and through charitable endeavors.
PEGGY serves on the Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service (as an EMT and driver) and on the Board of The Salisbury Housing Trust. She is also a member of the Litchfield County Association of Women Lawyers and the Tri-State Chamber.
